The Managing Director of the Light Livestock Union continued: Despite the fact that after removing the preferential currency, we announced many times that the liquidity needed by the ranchers should be provided, but unfortunately, this issue has been neglected, while in war conditions, this is not in the interest of the country’s food security.
According to him, in the years when the rainfall conditions are favorable, in the first half of the year we don’t need any problem in supplying red meat because the production is going well and for the second half of the year in order to provide strategic reserves, we may need to import, although the amounts will be lower than in previous years, also considering the favorable conditions of rainfall and livestock population, it seems that we will not need to import in the second half of the year.
Referring to the future of the red meat market, the managing director of Light Livestock Union said: “If the government provides the liquidity and working capital needed by livestock farmers based on the current conditions, we will not have any problems in production.” Of course, the Nuipo plan is not the answer to the country’s light livestock production.
