RASHEED HUGGINS and Nikita Campbell Cumberbatch have been certified as national referees after completing a course under the aegis of the Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association (ECVA).
The Vincentian duo represented the St Vincent and the Grenadines Volleyball Association (SVGVA), at the course that ran from July 12 to August 16, 2026 and was delivered in three phases- online, classroom, and practical sessions.
The online sessions took place July 12 to August 6, with the classroom phase done on August 10 and 11, and the practical sessions from August 12 to 16.
The second and third phases coincided with the 2026 Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association’s Senior Men’s and Women’s Championships, held at the Tortola Multi- Purpose Sports Complex from August 12 to 16.
Laws of the Game; Match management; and Officiating techniques were the main topics looked at by facilitators Brian Charles and Reginald Wiliamsburg.
The other ECVA members represented at the course were Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat,
St. Eustatius, St. Kitts & Nevis, St Lucia, Sint Maarten, Saint Lucia, and the US Virgin Islands.
