The Layou mother, who is charged with the murder of another man, one week after her son was murdered, has arrived in court.
Rosia John, a 46-year-old security guard, and Augustus Mathews, a 22-year-old resident of Layou, are charged that between April 10, 2026, and April 13, 2026, they agreed to a course of action which, if carried out, would have resulted in the commission of the offence of murder.
They were also charged that, with malice aforethought, they caused the death of Perrance Mathews, a 19-year-old labourer of Layou, by shooting him about his body with a firearm.
These offences were allegedly committed in Buccament.
In this video, they arrived at the Serious Offences Court in Kingstown on Friday, April 17, 2026, to hear the charges.
John’s son, Enrique John aka Shoubu, 29, and Raheem Guy, 22, were gunned down in Stoney Ground, Kingstown, on Friday, April 10, 2026.
