The American army announced on Tuesday that it had disabled an oil tanker by firing on its engine room to prevent it from reaching the Iranian island of Kharg in violation of the blockade decided by Washington against Iranian ports. The crew of the Lexie, a Botswana-flagged ship that was sailing empty, “ignored” “multiple” warnings from American forces before they fired a missile to prevent it from moving forward, the US Middle East Military Command (Centcom) said in a statement on X.
