Preokret states that their focus is on the model for preserving the functionality of Podgorica and preventing the introduction of forced administration, and that Europe’s focus is now on the function of the mayor.
From that difference comes a different reading of the same thing, they added.
“Mr. Saša Mujović’s party is trying to replace theses and divert attention from the only important fact here: when the parliamentary majority is lost, new solutions are sought or elections are held. Everything else is a political construct. PES refused the elections, and did not have the ability to offer a solution and purposefully led the city towards forced administration,” they added.
As they further point out, completely contrary to that, Preokret did offer a model that means strengthening the transparency, control and functionality of the Capital City, and thus preventing the planned campaign of 165 million euros from the city budget.
“This would cause damage to the citizens because all activities would then be subordinated to the timing and scope of the pre-election game, and not to raising the quality of the Capital City’s services and optimal management of the money of all citizens,” said the movement.
They also add – so that there is no confusion – Preokret’s model does not mean any coalition or their entry into power.
“We proposed a solution to unblock the work of the Capital City Assembly and prevent forced administration, and it was sent to all councilors without exception. We, as a non-bloc entity, were the only ones with the capacity to solve the problem produced by the strong bloc division that consumes the resources of all citizens. Our model is subordinated to overcoming, and not to the targeted creation of new problems”, they emphasized.
They remind that they gave the current government seven days to elect the President of the Assembly.
“Only when it was shown that there was no capacity for this, we offered a model for getting out of the crisis. Instead of a real response to the model, we now get from PES an attempt to shift the discussion from the essence to political constructions. The Assembly is not the executive power. Its role is to select, control and evaluate the work of the executive power. No one who does his job responsibly should
that he fears control,” they add.
Europe should now, they say in Preokret, first answer to the citizens that the majority, which after the election numbered 31, reached 27 or 23 councilors out of 59, depending on the political moment.
“Instead of reviewing their own responsibility, they see an attack in every proposal, and a danger in every possibility of control. When it comes to the candidacy for the President of the Capital City Assembly, we will announce at the Collegium that the conditions for Srđan Perić’s entry into the candidacy procedure have been met, after which, when the operational requirements are met, a formal candidacy will be submitted,” they concluded.
