The suspects, aged 16 and 18, were found in possession of shotguns and Molotov cocktails.
The trial of two teenagers accused of planning a violent attack on Tampere Vocational College (Tredu), began on Tuesday morning at Pirkanmaa District Court.
The male suspects, aged 16 and 18, allegedly planned and prepared for the attack between November 2025 and March 2026.
The 18-year-old is a Tredu student, while the younger defendant is not.
The prosecutor told the court that the two suspects drew up a detailed plan for carrying out a massacre at the school, which was broken down into six stages culminating in “judgement day” — planned for either spring or autumn 2026.
The defendants had acquired a floor plan of the school and took photographs of the location. They were also found in possession of two shotguns as well as a number of Molotov cocktails.
Their plan came to light when a third party reported them to the police. They were taken into custody in late March and early April.
The trial is taking place behind closed doors because one of the accused is a minor.
Both defendants have denied the charges against them. They have no prior convictions against them registered at Pirkanmaa District Court.
