Turmush — In the village of Jeti-Tash, aiyl aimak, Ken-Talaa, Leilek district, Batken region, kumboz Zhanybek baba is located.
About this to the correspondent Turmush local residents said.
According to them, kumboz is located on the slope of a hill.
According to folk legends, Zhanybek Baba was far from an easy person; he had an unusual assistant – a cloud with the silhouette of a camel.
“Zhanybek Baba consulted with his assistant, learned through him about upcoming events. Zhanybek Baba was educated and kind. He communicated with his assistant as if he were a person.” – say the villagers.
Legends say that Zhanybek Baba is considered a saint. At one time he was an adviser to people’s rulers.
“Zhanybek Baba, supported by a cloud in the form of a camel, helped needy families and protected the weak, trying to be fair. He was unable to be among people due to various unpleasant events, so he went to live alone in the mountains, and after a while he disappeared. The area where Zhanybek Baba disappeared was called the place where he died. Descendants made his kumboz (mausoleum) there, which is considered a holy place. Residents of the Leilek district and the city of Sulukta, as well as citizens of Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, come to him,” the villagers shared.
