“Iran’s Armed Forces are in complete chaos. Most of them, like the Navy and Air Force, no longer even exist – they have been completely defeated. Iran only talks and does not act”wrote the US president, after another night of exchanging attacks between the US and Iran. This after Trump claimed that Tehran shot down a US Apache helicopter.
After the US attack on southern Iran, Tehran retaliated by attacking the Fifth Fleet in Bahrain and an air base in Jordan, while Kuwait reported having suffered an Iranian attack.
Fox News, citing a telephone interview with the US president, reported that Trump is “close to ordering new attacks on Iranian power plants and bridges” in response to Iran’s alleged reluctance to negotiate.
“I can continue” the attacks, the president said, according to Fox News. “They had a chance to sign an agreement and survive.”
Trump added that Tehran has been “trapping the US” in peace talks, which have ultimately made little progress. This is after saying for several weeks that an agreement would be close.
