Trujillo: Nine Ecuadorians linked to the Los Tiguerones criminal organization are captured

Police captured in the northern Peru to nine Ecuadorians suspected of belonging to a faction of the criminal gang ‘The Tiguerones’recently classified by the United States as a group “terrorist”authorities reported this Friday.

These people were detained with the help of the US agency FBI in Trujilloabout 500 kilometers north of Lima. Weapons, ammunition, explosives and drugs were seized from them.

The United States embassy in Peru stated that the detainees are “linked to weapons, drug and human trafficking crimes”.

According to the local press, the Peruvian police are already coordinating with the Ecuadorian police to establish if they have a criminal record in their country of origin.
