PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad, Jun 9, CMC – A Special Reserve Police (SRP) officer will appear in court on Wednesday charged with forgery and misbehaviour in public office, after she submitted copies of certificates obtained from the Barbados-based Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC).
A police statement said that WPC Lauren Thomas has also been charged with uttering a forged document and will appear before the Port of Spain North Criminal Court on Wednesday .

The statement said that on March 15 this year, officers of the Professional Standards Bureau (PSB) received a report that a female officer allegedly submitted a document bundle to initiate the absorption process to become a Regular Police Officer, to the Police Academy.
“Subsequent checks were made to confirm the validity of the Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) certificates, however, it was observed that the certificates submitted were invalid,” the statement said, adding that an investigation was immediately lunched resulting in the female officer being arrested on June 1.
She was charged with the offences following ollowing advice received from Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
