ATHENS — Three citizens of Albanian origin have been confirmed among the victims of the serious incident that occurred in the Plakes neighborhood of Athens, where a building collapsed completely as a result of a powerful explosion the day before.
From the verifications made with the local authorities, three of the dead victims are Albanian-American citizens who were on vacation in the Greek capital. It is about sister and brother, Florin Hoxha and Florida Hoxha, as well as citizen Eris Cani.
Among the other persons identified from this tragedy are citizens Ian Alexander Kirkpatrick, Edmond Hings and Athina Papapresku.
Search and rescue teams have pulled out the first bodies from the ruins of the destroyed building.
Meanwhile, the local authorities have confirmed that from the controls carried out on the ground there are no more signs of survival under the collapsed structures.
