Film studio Blumhouse Atomic Monster and video game developer Behavior Interactive have hired Icelandic director Þórð Pálsson to direct a film adaptation of the video game. Dead by Daylightaccording to a news report Variety.
Þórður is known for his shows Violation and the movie The Damnedwhich received various nominations for this year’s Edda Awards. According to Variety he is currently working on the series Avalanchewhich is about a meteorologist who returns to his village to warn of an impending disaster.
“Þórður is the filmmaker we trust to move Dead by Daylight from the screen you play on to the big screen you watch in cinemas,” said Jason Blum, founder and CEO of Blumhouse Atomic Monster, whose video game is called a multiplayer horror game.
