The Secretary of Student Rights of the Federation of University Centers of the Central University of Venezuela (FCU-UCV), Ariel Pérez, denounced that this Tuesday more than 200 students were left without access to the dining room in the University City of Caracas due to insufficient provision.
The student leader pointed out that the capacity of the university cafeteria only allows it to serve a thousand students daily, which has generated limitations to cover the total demand of the student population.
He pointed out that the situation shows a problem that the student sector has repeatedly warned about.
“Today, more than 200 students were left without their lunch service, since currently, with the resources available at the University City Student Dining Room, it can only serve 1,000 students,” he said.
And he added: “We saw reflected how the demand that we have made on repeated occasions, that the endowment be increased, is necessary, since we witnessed a group of students who were left without food.”
Perez He stated that they will continue to demand a response from university and government authorities, to guarantee full access to food service.
“From the User Commission and the Human Rights Education Secretariat of the Federation of University Centers we will continue to demand before the ministry, before the university authorities, that the provision of our student dining room must be increased,” he added.
