Dominica’s Olympic gold medalist, Thea LaFond, has completed her full set of Commonwealth Games medals after capturing gold in the women’s triple jump in Glasgow.
LaFond secured the title with a winning leap of 14.60 metres (+0.7), adding Commonwealth gold to the bronze medal she earned in 2018 and the silver she claimed at the Birmingham Games in 2022.
The victory marks another major milestone in her career, as the Dominican star now boasts bronze, silver and gold medals from the Commonwealth Games.
In a congratulatory message on Facebook, Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit hailed the achievement as another proud milestone for Dominica.
“Congratulations to Thea Lafond-Gadson on winning Gold in the Women’s Triple Jump at the 2026 Commonwealth Games,” Skerrit stated.
He continued, “Your achievement is another proud moment for Dominica! Way to go Champ!”
