Washington, United States.
He United States Armed Forces Central Command denied that one of its military ships had been attacked while trying to cross the Strait of Hormuzas the Iranian press had reported.
“No American ship has been hit. American forces continue to support Operation ‘Project Freedom’ and the naval blockade of Iranian ports,” the Central Command, in charge of military operations in the Middle East, indicated on the X network.
The Fars agency, linked to the Revolutionary Guard, previously reported an attack in which two missiles hit a US ship, citing local sources.
Fars said that two missiles hit a US Navy ship near the port of Jask, on the southern flank of the Strait of Hormuz, forcing it to abandon its attempt to cross the strait.
Tasnim, an agency linked to the Revolutionary Guard, quoting a military source: “Iran is prepared for any scenario in the Strait of Hormuz. The first shots have already been fired.”
An informed military source told the Tasnim agency about US hostile actions in the Strait of Hormuz that Iran is fully prepared for any scenario and that “the Americans know that Iran will not allow intimidation of Trump or US forces.”
The president of the United States, Donald Trump, announced this Sunday the so-called ‘Project Freedom’ for the US Armed Forces to “guide” merchant ships through the Strait of Hormuz, although that would not include a formal military escort of the ships.
The US president assured that any interference with the operation to allow the transit of ships trapped in the Persian Gulf due to the conflict “will be dealt with by force.”
