Martyr Al-Hafiz, June 28, 2026 (SPS) – The Sahrawi National Council renewed its full solidarity with the Sahrawi civilian prisoners languishing in the prisons of the Moroccan occupation, stressing that it stands by their side in the battle of steadfastness and steadfastness in defense of the right of the Sahrawi people to freedom and independence, on the occasion of the conclusion of the spring session of 2026.
The National Council affirmed, in a statement of solidarity, that Sahrawi civilian prisoners have continued to face harsh detention conditions and policies of restriction and deprivation for years, despite their continued demands for their legitimate rights, noting that the Moroccan occupation authorities continue to tighten retaliatory measures against them, including isolation and deprivation of basic rights, in the face of their peaceful struggles.
The statement highlighted that the various international stations and efforts confirmed the unity of the Sahrawi popular position and their adherence to their inalienable national rights, foremost among which is the right to self-determination and independence, considering that the steadfastness of the prisoners inside prisons constitutes a symbol of sacrifice and steadfastness, and a message that their sacrifices will remain present in the process of the national struggle.
In light of what the statement described as the escalation of the Moroccan occupation and its continued violations of public freedoms, the Sahrawi National Council affirmed its complete and absolute solidarity with all Sahrawi civilian prisoners and their families, praising their patience, steadfastness and sacrifices.
The Council renewed its demand for the immediate and unconditional release of all Sahrawi civilian prisoners, calling on the United Nations, international bodies and human rights organizations to assume their legal and humanitarian responsibilities, and to work to protect the prisoners and put an end to the violations affecting them.
He also called for strengthening national and international solidarity with the issue of prisoners, and continuing peaceful efforts to guarantee their freedom, stressing that the issue of Sahrawi political detainees will remain a national priority and an essential part of the battle for freedom and dignity.
At the conclusion of its statement, the National Council called on the masses of the Sahrawi people in various locations where they are located to redouble their efforts and rally around the struggles of the Sahrawi civilian prisoners, in fulfillment of their sacrifices and steadfastness, and as an embodiment of national unity in the face of current challenges.
