Raiffeisen Bank has reacted to the serious incident of the day before, where many of the customers had their money taken from their accounts. Through an announcement distributed on social networks, Raiffeisen declares that the situation has been completely resolved.
“During today some of our customers experienced temporary changes in their account balances related to some card transactions. The situation has been fully addressed and the account balances reflect the correct state,” Raiffeisen announced.
The bank has denied that it fell prey to any cyber attack, but does not clarify why hundreds of customers’ accounts were changed.
“We also want to clarify that no unauthorized access to the bank’s systems has been identified, no customer data has been compromised and no cyber security incident has been identified,” adds Raiffeisen.

However, this announcement does not clarify what was the cause of what happened to the customers’ money. While Raiffeisen has given its version, it is now up to the Bank of Albania and the Cyber Security Authority to clarify the causes of the incident and verify whether there was a security breach.
It is not known whether BSH has started an inspection at Raiffeisen, but Kapitali has learned that the situation a day ago in the bank with Austrian capital was very honest. Most of the bank’s staff was called to work, even though it was Sunday, to engage in a PR campaign to reassure the public.
