The decision was made by a majority of two judges to one, as Judges Ofir Grosskopf and Alex Stein considered that the allegations related to the case of Uri Ilmakais do not constitute a moral defect or a violation of integrity that would justify his exclusion from the position, while Judge Daphne Barak-Erez considered that the file required further scrutiny before approving the appointment.

Netanyahu and Goffman
The court also unanimously rejected the position of the Israeli government’s legal advisor, Gali Beharav-Meara, who opposed the appointment, considering that the High Appointments Committee had not completed examining some aspects related to the case.
