The Armenian government is already completing the preparations for the implementation of the biometric passport system.
“Armenpress”According to the report, RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said this while presenting the pre-election program of the ruling “Civil Pact” party.
“In the coming days, we will be bringing you information about our new biometric passports, including what designs we envision, and this is very important news. The next important news is that from the moment of introduction of biometric passports or 1-3 months after that, citizens with biometric passports will not have any contact with the border guard at Zvartnots airport or when crossing our border checkpoints. They will scan their passports on the machines, the green light will turn on, and they will pass. This is a technology that is already used in the developed countries of the world, and in the first half of 2027 at the latest, we will have these systems at our border crossing points and at the “Zvartnots” airport,” the RA Prime Minister elaborated.
