The Venezuelan four He was declared the first Cultural Ambassador of Venezuela during an event that took place at the La Flor de Venezuela monument in Barquisimeto, Lara state. The official certification was delivered by the Ministry of Culture and the Country Brand Institute.
The Minister for Culture, Alejandro López Rodríguez, took advantage of the moment to praise the international reach of this Creole musical instrument. Likewise, he paid tribute to the artisanal dedication of the luthiers who “bring out the sound of this town from wood and cedar.”
For her part, the president of the Country Brand Institute, Andreína Tarazón, highlighted the symbolic value of the accreditation. “The initiative seeks strengthen our national pride and identitypositioning the best of our culture throughout the world,” he said.
Likewise, the governor of the state of Lara, Luis Reyes Reyes, celebrated the deep roots of the cuatro in the lands of Lara. “Today we celebrate that the cuatro is our true sound and the emblematic instrument of our land,” said the Larense president.
In this sense, during the event, Reyes Reyes announced the reactivation of the school provision program in the entity. He stressed that 10 fours will be delivered to each educational institution in the state.
Celebration
The people who were present during the certification ceremony were happy with the declaration. Those present enjoyed a masterful concert given by more than 40 Cuatrista children from the System of Orchestras and Choirs of the Lara state.
Besides, They presented a plaque of recognition to Cuatristas Giovanny Vélez, Guísela Rojas, María Alvarado, Clauder Sánchez and Gladys Sánchez.
Local cultists and national, regional and municipal authorities were also present at the event.
It should be noted that, with this distinction, the international projection of the Venezuelan cuatro is consolidated, which in 2024 was declared Cultural Heritage of the Nation.
