Not prison, but probation and confiscation of property. This is SPAK’s claim against Monika Kryemadhi’s mother and Ilir Meta’s former mother-in-law, who is accused of helping them to launder money during the purchase of the villa worth nearly 800,000 euros.
The Special Prosecutor, during the conclusions, requested that the court declare Fatima Kryemadhi guilty and confiscate her property, which, although justified by legal sources, is equivalent to the amount she allegedly laundered. SPAK demanded that Fatima Kryemadhi be sentenced to 7 years and 6 months in prison, which in the application of the shortened trial is reduced to 5 years in prison. But, the prosecutor said, taking into consideration the age, the prison sentence should be converted to 5 years of probation. SPAK’s investigations show as a cleaning scheme the taking of two loans for the purchase of apartments, obligations that were settled with cash.
During the conclusions, the prosecutor Sotir Kllapi demanded the guilty declaration of Pirro Xhixho, who, as the former head of AKEP, is accused of influencing the head of a mobile company for an interconnection agreement directed by the former couple. Pirro Xixho’s actions, the prosecutor said, were to favor corruption, as it is suspected that Kryemadhi has benefited from income from Ardian Shatku. For Pirro Xixho, SPAK demanded a sentence of 4 years and 6 months in prison, which with a shortened trial is reduced to 3 years. Taking into consideration his age and the fact that there were no personal benefits, it was proposed to convert the sentence to probation for the former official.
For the other defendant, Ema Çoku, who is described by SPAK as a close relation of Monika Kryemadhi, a sentence of 7 years imprisonment was requested, which is reduced to 4 years and eight months. Taking into account the circumstances, the suspension and placement under probation for 5 years was also requested against the friend of the former MP.
