A complaint received talks about a serious incident that happened at noon on Sunday in a building in the area at the end of the former Aviation Field in Tirana. According to the complaint of one of the residents, around 1:30 p.m., an explosion occurred in the electrical cabin of the building, after an intervention that, according to her, was carried out by unauthorized or incompetent persons to intervene in this environment. The resident claims that the incident caused flames and smoke to spread throughout the building, creating panic among the residents, including children.
“The moments of horror were present since there were also children in the building”, says the resident. Also, the resident emphasizes that there was significant damage on the first two floors, as well as on the 5th floor, while the damage that may have been caused to the electrical system for each apartment, after the explosion, is not really known.
She also claims that the fire service arrived about 25 minutes after the notification and that, according to her, the evacuation of residents was made difficult due to the lack of stairs.
The resident also raises concerns about the situation of the building, stating that the building, built by the company “Alesio”, has been occupied for about 2 and a half years, while according to her, the approval and mortgage process has not yet been completed. She says that the company has attributed the delays to procedures in the Municipality of Tirana, a claim that the resident says she does not believe.
After the incident, according to the complaint, the company undertook the reconstruction of the damages after receiving the OSHEE report, while so far it appears that no employee of the Electricity Service Operator has appeared in the building.
Another concern raised by her is related to the palace’s security cameras. According to the complaint, the police have not yet seized the images of the cameras installed by the residents themselves in the facility.
The resident says that this situation creates doubts among the residents and demands that the event be investigated in full. After the service of the electric cabin, the building lacks energy and drinking water since yesterday, causing the residents to leave their homes. According to the complaint, the damages are also visible inside the apartments, where there are smoke residues and blackened walls.
