OAG International, which provides data for airports and airlines, revealed that the scheduled seat capacity of air carriers operating in the UAE market during this June recorded about 5.83 million seats (11.66 million seats in both directions).
According to OAG, the total scheduled seat capacity of national airlines exceeded 5.4 million seats during June 2026 (10.8 million seats in both directions), so that the scheduled seat capacity of national carriers constituted 92.6% of the total capacity at the country’s airports during this June.
In turn, “Emirates Airlines” continued to lead the list of the largest airlines in the Middle East in terms of seat capacity, with about 2.61 million seats scheduled during this June (5.22 million seats in both directions), while “Flydubai” recorded a seat capacity amounting to about 855 thousand scheduled seats on flights during June (1.7 million seats in both directions), so that “Emirates” and “Flydubai” acquired about 6.92 million scheduled seats, constituting a percentage 59.4% of the total scheduled seat capacity of airlines at the country’s airports during this June, and about 64% of the total scheduled seat capacity of national carriers.
Regarding the seat capacity of airlines in the Middle East region, OAG stated that the number of scheduled airline seats in the Middle East region during this June reached 30.6 million seats, a decrease of 15.9% on an annual basis.
She added that the capacity on international flights, which represents 86.2% of the aviation market in the Middle East, decreased by 17.6%, compared to June of 2025, to reach 26.4 million seats, a decrease of 5.6 million seats.
It stated that scheduled seat capacity on local flights, which constitutes 13.8% of the market size, decreased by 4%, compared to June 2025.
