After months of a slow but steady decline in the fuel price since peaked in mid-April by conflict in the Middle Eastin the last two days a slight upswing has been detected that could be considered anecdotal if it weren’t for the fact that it coincides with the announcement of Government of a cost reduction.
Although it depends on the type of service stationthe increase is quite widespread and is around three cents per litre, according to figures from the portal of Government and as he has been able to verify diary. This has meant that the cost of diesel, which is slightly cheaper than unleaded petrol, has already returned to being above1.50 euros per liter or just a few tenths below. On the other hand, the price of gasoline is close to1.54 euros per litre.
Looking ahead to the coming days, it will be important to see if these increases are consolidated or even accelerated coinciding with the entry into force of the sales next wednesdaysince if so, the impact of the discounts on the consumers would be dampened.
Taking into account last year’s sales during the discount period, between the July 15 and September 30the executive contemplated that the set of drivers will save some 691,000 euros in 95 octane unleaded gasoline, 187,000 in the 98 octane and more than 823,000 in dieselthanks to discounts of 0.10 cents per liter for diesel i 0.15 for gasoline. The bill entered through the emergency route also obliges fuel importers to assume part of the discount if they want to benefit from the refund made by the Governmentof more than1.2 million.
