Stina Sværd writes that she has not defrauded or misused the organization’s funds.
– On the contrary, I have used my efforts to look after the interests of the organization and the employees, and not least to protect the children’s rights. At the same time, I have worked to uncover extensive abuse, because I believe that the truth must come out and that our responsibility towards the children must always come first.
Here she is probably referring to the fact that in August MIO reported a former employee to the police on suspicion of embezzlement and document forgery.

Saying thank you to business partners, employees and citizens
In her post, Stina Sværd does not go into why she has been dismissed. But she sends a loss to all her collaborators, employees and the citizens she has collaborated with during her time in the organisation.
– And not least, I would like to say a special thank you to all the children I have met and had the opportunity to listen to, support and fight for. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, experiences and hopes with me. It has been a privilege to be allowed to be your voice and work to ensure that your rights, needs and perspectives are taken seriously. You have been – and will always be – the most important thing in my work.
– I am leaving office with great gratitude for the time I have had, and with an unwavering belief that children’s rights and voices must always be at the center.
