The Minister of Finance, Ramon Lladóshas presented the budget for the next fiscal year, the last of the Democrats’ legislature, which foresees an 11% increase in expenses and income and climbs up to 834,841,285 euros. According to the minister’s figures, the budget expects to close with a deficit of 43 million euros, 8% more than last year. As for the current financial year, the implementation estimate indicates that this year a final surplus of around 10 million can be achieved.
This budget increase comes given by the evolution of incomemainly in the collection of direct taxes, which is estimated at 17% more than this year, which would represent more than 44 million euros more for the state coffers. In general, growth is also expected in the other items, highlighting the 33% increase in the fees and other income section, mainly due to the incorporation of the deposit of 50,000 euros lost fund that must be paid by passive and self-employed residents.
Aside from expenses, the Government plans to keep strong investments in health, with almost 130 million euroshighlighting 60 for the CASS and 55.6 for the SAAS; more than 100 million for Educationwith 43.7 million for the Andorran school, 13.3 for the Meritxell Private Foundation or 5.4 for the University of Andorra: and 26 million for the public housing stockto which the 2025 surplus of 35 million must be added.
Lladós has assured that the main challenges remain to ensure sustainable growth while intensifying efforts to advance the country’s diversification.
