Those interested in the programs of the Lakitelek Folk Academy Foundation and the Hungarikum Liget are hereby informed that the situation of our sponsored events has become uncertain due to the two-thirds parliamentary victory of the Tisza Party – writes Sándor Lezsák, Fidesz MP and chairman of the board of trustees of the Folk Academy Foundation, in a letter sent to Telex.
According to Lezsák, this is why some programs “can only be implemented in the next year if support for the given program is secured”. According to the representative, in addition to book publishing and the support of local associations, such programs and events as the Carpathian Basin Hungaricum contests, the Kösntyű folk dance meeting, the Eastern opening translation camp, the Day of the Ancestors and the programs of related peoples and countries, the national mill championship, as well as the schnapps and ulti championships were put in jeopardy.
The Fidesz representative therefore indicated a bank account number in the letter, through which those interested can also financially support the foundation, and wrote that they can donate a percentage of their taxes to the organization.
Like the K-monitor summed it up earlierthe Lakitelek People’s College, founded by Sándor Lezsák and his wife, has had increasing budget support since 2011. This meant HUF 16 billion for the central budget by the end of 2017, and HUF 10 billion was allocated to support the folk college in the 2019 budget year. In the area of the People’s University, a modeling equestrian center called Hungarikum Liget, as well as a Nimród constellation-shaped footgolf course, a planetarium, a wine cathedral, a hotel and a campsite were built with 30 billion forints of state funding.
By the way, Lezsák is the organizer of the housing meeting before the regime change and the founder of the MDF locally he was an extremely embedded candidate, whom no one saw a serious chance of defeating at the time. They did not even come close to this, Lezsák won the district with 63 percent of the vote in 2022, making him one of the most secure Fidesz strongholds even before this year’s election. lined up is about that analysesbut in the end Lezsák still lost to the Tisza candidate.
