Team Athletics SVG pays homage to fathers

A 50-METER RACE held on Sunday, June 21, 2026, in honour of fathers present at the Diamond Track Facility, was one way that Team Athletics SVG paid homage on Father’s Day.

The event that brought together coaches, a parent of a national youth athlete, as well as members of the SVG Read Cross, was a good diversion from the otherwise competitive proceedings of the 2026 Wendell Hercules National Championships.

Topping the father’s race was Joel Jacobs, who beat Romique Hooper into second place,with former St Vincent and the Grenadines and Windwards Under-19 opening batsman Joey Liverpool, placing third.

Apart from providing the spectators with some good fun, the top three were presented with their respective medals, and Team Athletics SVG official jerseys.
