Today, the Secretary-General of the Central Union, Omar Taqgout, praised the achievements of the President of the Republic for the benefit of workers, at all levels, stressing that “the Union did not ask for much, but the President gave a lot.”
During the celebration of International Workers’ Day, in the presence of the Ministers of Labor, Abdelhak Sayhi, and the Minister of Solidarity, Soria Moulouji, and a large number of workers from various sectors, at the People’s House, Taqgout stressed that the President of the Republic did not skimp on the workers with funds, even though the projects that materialized on the ground required large financial envelopes, in the mining, irrigation, roads and railway sectors.
The first man in union centralization stressed that the authority today has opened the doors of social dialogue wide, and all unions, as well as employers, must work together and sit at the dialogue table for the benefit of the working class.
Tafgout mentioned the increases approved by President Tebboune, for the benefit of workers since 2022, until now, and were behind the improvement in the worker’s purchasing power. “The president committed to improving purchasing power…which is what actually happened…public job increases and raising the value of retirees’ pensions, the unemployment grant, and the gains resulting from collective agreements in economic institutions.”
The Secretary-General of the Central Union said that the president’s message on the occasion of International Workers’ Day included a demand to reconsider the path of the union and return to the national union struggle for which Aissat Idir sacrificed, and after him all those who succeeded him under his leadership, according to him.
