It was only in February that Green Party politician Yves Wagener gave up his seat on the State Council after six years. He wanted to concentrate on his other professional activities, it said in a press release. Wagener is also President of the Board of Directors of the Escher Kulturfabrik. The LSAP top candidate Paulette Lenert expressed interest in replacing Wagener at the end of March.
“The fact that Yves Wagener’s position has not yet been filled makes it difficult to give a profile of requirements for Kohn’s successor,” Thewes explains to the Daily newspaper. “Kohn was hired as a social security specialist. In this area it is difficult to find the right people who do not already work in a ministry.” Accordingly, a completely different profile could also be considered if the parties cannot provide a suitable candidate for the profiles they are looking for. The State Council will have to discuss this in the near future. The State Council has been advertising two requirement profiles since 2017. (les/siw)
