With two home games on July 2nd and 5th in the Coque against Azerbaijan and North Macedonia, the first round of pre-qualification for the European Championship 2029 ends for the FLBB men. With their record of two wins and two defeats, national coach Ken Diederich’s team still has a realistic chance of moving into the next round. With a 16-member squad, the team is now starting preparations for the last two dates, which will enter the intensive phase next week with a training course in Spain.
There are also a whole range of young talents there. Above all, Namik Muratovic. As is well known, the 2.20 meter tall player from the Bayern Munich academy only recently decided to play for Luxembourg. Also taking part for the first time is fellow rocker Edson de Sousa Silva, who will no longer be subject to the star regulations in the future. Unlike the winter time slots, Diederich can also rely on the two college players Dorian Grosber and Luke Jungers. The latter is considered the future successor to Clancy Rugg. All players in whom Diederich has high hopes for the future.
