The soccer player Rob Holding, who is the boyfriend of the national team woman Sveindís Jane Jónsdóttir, has received the green card in the United States.
This was announced by his club Colorado Rapids, which plays in the MLS league.
Getting a green card means that a person is a permanent resident of the United States.
Holding is therefore now considered a national player, which gives the club increased flexibility in the player group, since the number of foreign players is limited.
Holding is the Englishman who played for seven years with Arsenal but also Bolton, Bury, Crystal Palace and Sheffield United in his home country.
He joined the ranks of the Colorado Rapids in June last year and followed Sveindís to the United States, where she plays with Angel City in Los Angeles.
