Catalonia (Spain), June 7, 2026 (SPS) – The province of Catalonia embraced activities in solidarity with the Sahrawi cause.
The event was attended by the representative of the Polisario Front in the province, Mohamed Salem Ahmed Labeid, the president of the Catalan Friendship Association with the Sahrawi People, the former president of the Sahrawi Sports Federation, Ahmed Baba Bouhibini, and the current president, Taqiu Khatri Adoh, along with the federation’s technical staff.
The event was marked by the launch of a peace march that roamed the streets of the city with the national flag of the Sahrawi Republic, accompanied by a musical band chanting songs of solidarity with the Sahrawi people and their legitimate struggle.
In the municipal square, solidarity tents were set up and a platform was opened, the activity of which was opened by the municipal cooperation and environment advisor, to open a discussion in which the representative of the Front in Catalonia, Mohamed Salem Ahmed Labeid, and the writer of the Sahrawi Federation for Sports, Habiba Salama, shed light on the struggle of our people from various political aspects. Cultural, social and historical, highlighting the role of sports in introducing the Sahrawi issue.
The morning period concluded with an artistic evening by Sahrawi artist Aziza Ibrahim, during which she presented revolutionary artistic masterpieces in Spanish and the national dialect.
The evening session was in the municipal stadium, where a match was organized between the Sahrawi female football team against the local female team, which ended with the victory of the latter. This was followed in the same stadium by another friendly match between the Sahrawi national football team for under 17 years of age against the same type of municipal team, which ended with a landslide victory for our national team over the host team.
The day in Aden was accompanied by cultural and political activities and meetings, with the presentation of customs that characterize the culture of the Sahrawi people, such as tea (Sass).
