A 3.0-magnitude earthquake struck near Oslo, Oslo County, Norway. The tremor was recorded in the morning on Sunday, April 26th, 2026, at 9:24 am local time, at a very shallow depth of 4.50 km below the surface.
The event was filed by the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), the first seismological agency to report it.
Based on the preliminary seismic data, the quake should not have caused any significant damage, but was probably felt by many people as light vibration in the area of the epicenter.
Weak shaking might have been felt in Leirsund (pop. 1,200) located 3 km from the epicenter, Sorumsand (pop. 5,900) 6 km away, and Lillestrom (pop. 89,700) 7 km away.
Other towns or cities near the epicenter where the quake might have been felt as very weak shaking include Fetsund (pop. 6,400) located 8 km from the epicenter, Klofta (pop. 5,900) 8 km away, Strommen (pop. 11,400) 9 km away, Ask (pop. 6,900) 10 km away, and Oslo (pop. 1,082,600) 24 km away.
