Yesterday was the official start of the 23rd FIFA World Cup, which this year is being held in 16 cities across Canada, Mexico and the USA. This football tournament, which will last until July 19, is specific in that for the first time in history it is jointly organized by three countries. The Croatian national team arrives at this competition as the current winner of bronze from 2022 and silver from Russia in 2018, when they played in the grand final. This time, our Vatreni are placed in group L, where they will compete against England, Ghana and Panama.
However, apart from football, the main topic of this championship in North America has become the astronomical ticket prices, which have risen drastically. Because of the huge costs, fans all over the world sent harsh criticism to the organizers. As a result, we asked the people of Split how much they would pay for a ticket to watch Croatia in the final itself:
– Maybe up to some 200,250 euros, at most. Everything above that is really, really much. It’s okay for them to set such prices, they see that they are passing by the fans, but it’s crazy. People take out loans for such things, the friends agreed.
– Approximately 200 euros, oh! I pay 30 euros for Hajduk, I won’t even go west, it’s too expensive for me. I know only one person who went to the last World Championship and that is my brother Marko Livajanot convinced that anyone else would be able to afford it, the young man revealed to us.
– I’m old, I wouldn’t even go to America! The final is far away this time. Their prices are normal, it doesn’t mean much to them. But we, who have small pensions and low salaries, cannot afford it, concluded the pensioner.
See what they told us in the attached video.
