The football team of Serbia gathered a few days ago in anticipation of playing friendly matches with Cape Verde and Mexico. After the debacle against the Cape Verde Islands (3:0), the Serbian footballers suffered another heavy defeat, Mexico defeated them at home in Toluca with a score of 5:1.
Nothing strange, Serbia is playing without the biggest stars, they did not respond to coach Veljko Paunović’s call, which caused real drama in the country. Stanislas Karasi, president of the Expert Committee of the Football Association of Serbia, was harsh a few days ago.
“Their move is shameful, they caused a lot of damage to the national team and the coach should no longer call them to the national team. You cannot choose matches. The national team is sacred and when it plays friendly matches, we must respect it, the one who is invited is obliged to soak the jersey with sweat. It is better to go out on the field with a worse team, but at least with players who like to play for Serbia, and not with those who embarrassed us. It has never happened that we lacked so many national team players. They simply have no sense of what it means national team”, Karasi did not choose his words.
