AN EXPATRIATE was shot and killed on the Grenadine island of Canouan on Wednesday June 24e 2026, sending the homicide count in St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) for 2026 to 19.
According to a resident, the foreigner, known my most as “Danny” (Daniel Vettrino), works with the Canouan investors who operate on the North of the island as a Technical Services Manager at the Canouan Estate Resort and Villas. He is originally from Scotland.
Vettrino is said to have been returning home from an outing sometime before 12:00 a.m. when he was accosted and shot in a parking lot in the Barbruce area.
Police are investigating and have detained two men for questioning.
