The Santa Fe de Bogotá Foundation delivered this Tuesday the first medical report on the health status of journalist Yamid Amat Ruiz, who remains hospitalized in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the institution.
According to the statement issued by the Santa Fe de Bogotá Foundation, at the request of the family, Amat is in “critical condition and low prognosis reserved”.

The medical institution reported that the journalist entered the hospital during the night of Monday and that, since then, he has required “comprehensive and multidisciplinary management” by the medical team.
“The patient is in critical condition and has a reserved prognosis,” says the statement signed by Adolfo Llinás Volpe, Corporate Medical Director of the Santa Fe de Bogotá Foundation.
In this first report, the institution did not provide additional details about the condition that led to the journalist’s hospitalization or about the medical procedures that have been performed on him.
The Santa Fe Foundation specified that the next communications related to Amat’s health status will be issued “according to the evolution of his condition and prior express authorization from the family”.

This is the first official report released by the medical institution about the situation of the journalist, who remains under care in the Intensive Care Unit.
The statement was dated in Bogotá this September 22, 2026 and was issued directly by the Santa Fe de Bogotá Foundation at the request of Yamid Amat’s family.
