GUALDICCIOLO – The mobile telephone pylon in via Fabrizio da Montebello, in front of the paper mill, will be completed to improve network coverage in the residential and industrial areas of Gualdicciolo. The start-up of the plant is scheduled for spring 2027, after obtaining the still missing administrative opinions.
The project was illustrated during a public evening in the multipurpose room of the Gualdo Centre, promoted by the Captain of Castello Enzo Semprini and the Castello di Acquaviva Council, in collaboration with the Secretariats of State for Industry and Territory and with the participation of TIM technicians.
The infrastructure, launched almost ten years ago and never completed, aims to reduce the gray areas that penalize the connectivity of families and economic activities. To complete the work, materials already stored in the warehouses of the State Autonomous Company for Public Works will be reused, with the aim of containing waste and reducing construction times.
During the meeting, government representatives and technicians illustrated the measures envisaged to ensure compliance with the limits relating to electromagnetic fields. The Environment Prevention and Supervision Office, led by engineer Omar Raimondi, will carry out instrumental checks on the project, during testing and subsequently with periodic checks while the plant is in operation.
According to the preventive measurements presented during the evening, the electromagnetic field levels in the areas accessible to the population will remain well below the legal thresholds. The technicians also illustrated the radiant characteristics of the pylon and the adaptation of the equipment to current energy efficiency and safety standards.
«Providing answers to the companies and families of Gualdicciolo means providing the country with a resilient digital infrastructure, capable of supporting economic competitiveness and daily services», declared the Secretary of State for Industry, Rossano Fabbri. The completion of the work, he added, allows us to recover an unfinished infrastructure and respond to the technological needs of the area, maintaining open discussions with citizens.
The Secretary of State for the Territory, Matteo Ciacci, reiterated that “the protection of public health and the liveability of the Castle remains the absolute priority of this intervention”. The location in a production area on the edge of the urban fabric and the controls entrusted to public structures, he explained, are part of the guarantees provided to accompany the strengthening of the network.
Also taking part in the debate were Fabrizio Bonini, from TIM, and the engineer Andrea Silvagni, from the Secretariat of State for the Territory. Numerous questions from citizens, to which the Government and technicians responded, confirming their willingness to continue the discussion in the coming months.
