SAN MARINO – The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Principality of Andorra Imma Tor Faus was received in San Marino on the occasion of the Installation Ceremony of the Captains Regent, in which she participated as Official Speaker.
The Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs welcomed her to Palazzo Pubblico Luca Beccari. The previous evening the Minister was received in audience by the Captains Regent Alice Mina And Vladimiro Selvaaccompanied by the Ambassador of Andorra to San Marino Carles Àlvares Marfany. On this occasion she was awarded the honor of the Equestrian Order of Saint Agatha in the rank of Knight Grand Cross.
At the center of the meetings are the relations between San Marino and Andorra and, in particular, the path of association with the European Union carried out jointly by the two small states for almost ten years. The signing of the Association Agreement is scheduled for October 19th.
The discussion on Europe also continued during the meeting of the Heads of Mission of the European Union member countries accredited to San Marino, which took place in the “Fausta Morganti” Aula Magna of the University. The meeting, organized by the Ambassador of the European Union in collaboration with the Irish Presidency of the Council of the EU, addressed the prospects for cooperation and support of Member States in the future implementation phase of the Agreement.
On the morning of October 1st, before the Installation Ceremony, Beccari and Tor Faus also held a bilateral meeting dedicated to the experience gained during the negotiation and the subsequent institutional obligations required of the two countries.
The meeting also addressed the main issues of the international geopolitical scenario, with particular attention to the conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East and their repercussions on European countries.
