It’s time to wave goodbye to an hour’s sleep, but hello to brighter evenings. On Saturday evening, Greenland switches to summer time, and the clock must be set forward one hour.
If you have plans for Saturday evening, you must pay extra attention to the clock face.
When the clock strikes 11pm on Saturday 28 March, we jump straight into Sunday. Here, the clock must be set one hour forward to 00:00.
This means that we change the time zone from UTC -2 to UTC -1.
Exceptions in the north and east
Although most of the country follows the new era, there are, as usual, important exceptions. Citizens in Danmarkshavn and at Pituffik Space Base must not touch their watches, as these areas are subject to special rules in the Government’s executive order.
Daylight saving time applies right up to the last Sunday in October, when the clocks must again be set back one hour.
