The RA Ministry of Economy discussed the directions of RA-US cooperation expansion in the field of intellectual property protection.
RA Deputy Minister of Economy Anushik Avetyan met with the delegation headed by Zmarak Khan, Deputy Chief Legal Adviser of the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP) of the US Department of Commerce. The meeting took place within the framework of the US delegation’s visit to Armenia, the purpose of which is to develop bilateral cooperation and discuss new program directions.
During the meeting, the parties emphasized RA-US cooperation in the field of intellectual property, emphasizing its key role in the formation of a competitive, innovative and knowledge-based economy. It was noted that the existing cooperation contributes to the improvement of the investment environment, the realization of the process of commercialization of technologies and the provision of stable economic growth.
The Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia presented that the “Strategic Plan for the Development of the Intellectual Property Sector of the Republic of Armenia for 2026-2030” is currently being developed by the Ministry, within the framework of which comprehensive legal and institutional reforms are planned in accordance with international standards.
Reference was also made to the further directions of deepening cooperation, in particular, implementation of capacity building programs, improvement of legal practice, strengthening of coordination between interested bodies, continuous exchange of international experience.
