This Sunday, April 12, International Datum will announce its quick count of the minutes after the 2026 general elections, a tool that will allow us to know the trends in the electoral result.

The results will be disseminated by America Televisionon a day in which Peruvians will elect the president and vice presidents of the Republic, deputies, senators and representatives before the Andean Parliament.
The quick count is a methodology that allows projecting electoral results from a representative sample of voting records.
On Canal N, Urpi Torrado, CEO of Datum, said that the time for the quick count to be broadcast will depend a lot on how long it takes for the polling station members to finish their work.
Unlike exit polls, which are based on voter statements, this system uses data collected directly from official records, which gives it a higher level of precision.
For the quick count, the pollsters will be at the voting centers, they will wait for the count at the tables, they will copy the record into software and transmit it in real time to the computing center installed at América Televisión.
Although the quick count offers a reliable approximation, the official results will be published by the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE), entity in charge of the final calculation of the votes.
In these elections, approximately 27 million Peruvians are eligible to go to the polls. Voting day will take place from 7 am to 5 pm, in thousands of locations distributed nationwide.
The process is carried out in a political context marked by the fragmentation of candidates and an intense electoral campaign, in which the candidates have toured the country with proposals focused on issues such as citizen security, economic reactivation and institutional reforms.
With the closing of the tables and the dissemination of the quick count, the country will enter a key stage to know the political direction of the coming years, waiting for the official results that will confirm the voters’ decision.
