In a meeting with the Iranian Foreign Minister, Pakistan’s Interior Minister reviewed the latest decisions and developments regarding the “Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding”.
Pakistan’s Interior Minister Seyed Mohsen Reza Naqvi met and talked with Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi in Tehran on Saturday, 30th of June.
This meeting was held in the continuation of the consultations of the Pakistani authorities regarding the negotiations between Iran and the United States.
A few hours before this meeting, Naqvi visited the holy shrine of Razavi in holy Mashhad.
On the 17th of Gemini, he handed over the written message of Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif addressed to the Supreme Leader during his trip to Tehran and meeting with Iran’s Foreign Minister.
Islamabad has acted as a mediator between the two sides since the 19th of this year and after the establishment of a ceasefire in the war between the US and the Israeli regime against Iran.
The country’s officials, including Army Commander Seyed Assem Munir, Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar, and Interior Minister Seyyed Mohsen Naqvi, made several trips to Iran over the past two months to try to maintain the ceasefire and provide conditions for reaching an understanding and agreement.
These efforts finally led to the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the presidents of Iran and the United States on 27 June.
After signing this memorandum of understanding, Iran and the United States will start 60-day negotiations with the aim of reaching a definitive solution to the disputed issues.
