
Well-known Dominican businessman McMillan Jno-Baptiste, one of the country’s longest-serving fuel retailers, has died. Widely known simply as “Mr. McMillan,” or “Mr. Mac”, he spent nearly six decades in the petroleum industry and was respected for his dedication to serving customers across Dominica. He began his career with Esso in 1956 before establishing his own fuel retail business in 1974.
During his long career, Jno-Baptiste witnessed significant changes in the petroleum industry, including fluctuations in fuel prices and rising operating costs. Despite the challenges, he remained committed to providing an essential service to the Dominican public and continued to manage his business well into his later years.
Jno-Baptiste’s contribution to Dominica’s business community and petroleum sector earned him widespread respect. His passing marks the end of a remarkable career defined by hard work, perseverance and decades of service to the nation.
