Visitors to Monaco’s renowned Prince’s Car Collection will have the opportunity this summer to trace the transformation of some of the world’s most celebrated automobiles through a new temporary exhibition highlighting the relationship between automotive heritage and modern engineering.
Running from Monday, June 22 to September 13, the exhibition, titled From Yesterday to Today, will occupy the museum’s mezzanine level and present a selection of historic vehicles alongside their contemporary successors.
Rather than focusing solely on individual models, the exhibition examines how automotive design philosophies have evolved over time, showcasing the technological advances, performance gains and stylistic changes that have reshaped the industry across successive generations.
Among the featured displays will be several striking manufacturer pairings, placing legendary vehicles next to the modern machines they inspired. Ferrari enthusiasts will be able to compare the iconic F40 with the latest F80, while Bugatti’s celebrated EB110 will be displayed alongside the Chiron Pur Sport. Other highlights include the Ford GT40 and its modern descendant, the Ford GT, as well as classic and contemporary versions from Alpine, Renault, Mercedes-Benz and Porsche.
The exhibition aims to demonstrate how manufacturers continue to draw inspiration from their most famous creations while adapting them to modern expectations, incorporating advances in aerodynamics, materials, safety systems and performance technology.
Organisers say the display offers a unique perspective on the automotive industry’s ability to blend tradition with innovation, allowing visitors to see firsthand how some of the most influential cars ever built have been reimagined for a new era.
With sixteen vehicles presented in direct comparison, the exhibition promises a journey through more than fifty years of automotive development, celebrating both the enduring appeal of classic motoring legends and the cutting-edge engineering of today’s high-performance machines.
