
Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit has expressed appreciation to teachers across Dominica, recognizing their continued contribution to the development and education of the nation’s children.
In a message issued on Thursday, October 1, 2026, Skerrit said he was extending a “heartfelt thank you” to educators for the important role they play in shaping the lives of young people.
The Prime Minister acknowledged that teaching can be demanding and requires considerable patience, sacrifice and understanding.
Reflecting on his interactions with educators over the years, he said he had encountered many teachers whose dedication to their students had been a source of inspiration, emphasizing that effective teaching also requires a genuine commitment to helping young people develop and reach their potential.
Skerrit further noted that the contribution of teachers extends well beyond the classroom, as their work helps influence the future direction of Dominica.
He thanked educators for their patience, sacrifices, and care for the nation’s children, while extending his best wishes to teachers on Teacher Appreciation Day.
