The Phnom Penh Military Police organised a fitness test for officers with the aim of improving operational efficiency in carrying out duties and assisting in rescue operations.
The two-day exercise was held at the Phnom Penh Military Police Headquarters and the Boeng Kak Development Area in Daun Penh district.
Lieutenant General Rath Sreang, Deputy Commander of the National Military Police and Commander of the Phnom Penh Military Police, said the unit consistently prioritises improving physical fitness and technical skills of its personnel through martial arts training, mixed physical exercises, health care, hygiene practices, and disciplined daily routines.
These efforts aim to enhance the force’s readiness for prevention, suppression, and rescue missions.
Lt Gen Sreang said the Phnom Penh Military Police has set up the fitness test programme to encourage its officers to keep training.
The exercises include running, push-ups, pull-ups, and various strength-based activities.
The fitness test is conducted every semester under the supervision of military police leadership to ensure officers stay fit.
Military police’s civil duties include providing security and maintaining public order, investigating and preventing organised crime, terrorism, and other violent activities, in addition to helping during emergencies.
