PARAMARIBO — The Suriname Police Corps (KPS) will carry out “intensive traffic checks” in the coming period, it is reported on its own website. “With this increased traffic enforcement, the force aims to promote compliance with traffic laws and regulations and to strengthen traffic discipline among all road users,” it is stated.
According to the KPS, the aim of intensifying traffic enforcement is to increase road safety, reduce the number of traffic accidents and guarantee public order and safety on public roads. Violations of the applicable traffic regulations will therefore be strictly monitored, a warning is issued. “If violations are found, the police will take enforcement action in accordance with the applicable legal provisions.”
