Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar and Attorney General John Jeremie have declined to comment on the police investigation involving Acting Chief Magistrate Brian Dabideen.
Responding to questions from Guardian Media yesterday, Persad-Bissessar said, “I would prefer to not comment on an ongoing investigation of this critical nature.”
She added that the TTPS was handling the matter and she was not privy to its details.
Jeremie similarly stated, “This is an ongoing police matter and I am not able to comment.”
Their responses follow confirmation from Police Commissioner Allister Guevarro that officers searched Dabideen’s home and seized items as part of an ongoing investigation.—Akash Samaroo
